How To Vote

  • Vote at home!

    • Skip the lines, bad weather, and vote in the convenience of your home. Registered voters can request an absentee ballot each election year, beginning Jan 1. Absentee ballots cannot be requested on the day of the election.

    • To request a ballot, visit or call the Laramie County Clerk’s office (307) 633-4242, or email election@LaramieCountyWy.gov (Subject: Absentee your name). Include

      • The name under which you are registered to vote

      • Your date of birth

      • Your residence and mailing address

      • Your email/phone contact

      • *For the Primary election, the political party with which you are registered.

    • Allow 7-10 days for your ballot to arrive and another 7-10 days for it to be returned to us.

    Make your vote count.

    • Follow the instructions that come with your ballot.

    • Sign the affidavit on the envelope.

    • Return it by mail, deliver it to our office, or use our convenient 24/7, secure ballot drop box, located outside the Laramie County Governmental Complex on Carey Ave, between 19th & 20th St.

    Ballots arriving after the deadline of 7 pm on Election Day will not be counted.

  • Military or Overseas Citizen not currently registered to vote?

    • If Laramie County is your voting residence and you are living elsewhere because of military service or you are an overseas citizen, you may use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) for temporary registration and absentee voting privileges.

    • Absentee ballots are sent 45 days prior to an election.

    • Send your FPCA at least three weeks prior to an election to ensure your request is processed in time. You can send your FPCA by email to election@laramiecountyWy.gov .

    Ballots must be returned by mail and received in the Clerk’s office not later than 7 pm on Election Day in order to be counted. Voted ballots cannot be returned by email.

    Early voting starts 28 days before the election and ends the day before;

    Classic voting at the polls. From 7 am to 7 pm, bring your voter ID and cast your ballot at any voter center in Laramie County. Choose the center most convenient to where you live, work, or happen to be. Not yet registered? You can do that on Election Day or before.
